Genesis 39:2-4 NLT – [2] The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master. [3] Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. [4] This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. He put him in charge of his entire household and everything he owned.
Have you ever met that individual who just seems like everything they touch turns to gold? Prosperity just comes their way no matter what. Often, it's even individuals that do not profess Christ as a believer in God. They just have the Midas touch.
We all would like to think that once we surrender ourselves to Christ that everything works out just right. And when you read this section of scripture about Joseph and his way, you're almost encouraged to think that's possible.
But likewise, you have to look back at the whole story of Joseph. Remember, he had just been betrayed by all of his brothers, and then sold into slavery. This wasn't a part-time job, this was his destiny forever that he would be a slave and belong to another person who might purchase him. I am sure at that moment Joseph wasn't feeling so good about all the wonderful things that were headed his way.

Each and every one of us have a path that is similar on some level to Joseph's. Just when we are committed that our whole existence is dedicated to God, all of a sudden, things seem to go south. All the wonderful blessings we saw and hoped to see before us turn down a different direction.
Following Christ is not always a path of blessing after blessing after blessing. Or at least blessings as we define them in the eyes of men. As we know, blessings defined by men include such things as position, monetary success, and wealth.
But for us as believers, it is a whole different definition that we carry with us as we walk with God.
Today, focus yourself on what you see as a path of blessing in your journey with the Lord. Turn it away from goals of money and position and focus it on a path of a relationship that brings a Spirit of peace to enjoy no matter what steps you take and path you follow.
Stay healthy and have a blessed week!
