As for me, I said, "Lord, be gracious to me;
Heal my soul, for I have sinned against You." Psalm 41:4
Sin affects our health and our soul. Sin impacts our identity, personality, our feelings, our conscious body that is often impacting out mental health. Most mental health issues are tied to sin, that of out own or what has been done to us and the impact it has on us. Personality disorders generally originate in early childhood, although not generally diagnosed until later in life. They are often tied to abuse and neglect, both of which are sin.

We are responsible for repenting (not that you are responsible for abuse or neglect or have a need to repent for your actions related to it, responsibility lies with the perpetrator) and asking God to heal our soul. The choice is to turn to God and ask for His help in healing. We can stand against a generational patterns and curses saying "No more satan." We can intercede and repent on behalf of our family, standing in the gap (standing in the gap like you would as you pray for your city, or country, or someone else), asking God to forgive the sin. We can declare that the sin will go no further in your family tree. We can stand in the healing gap for ourselves and those that come after. Sometimes healing can even come for those in our generation and those who perpetrated sin against us as we stand in that healing gap.
Lord thank You for the healing You have done to my soul and the work You have done in me to bring healing. If there is hidden sin in my life or in the life of my family line reveal it to me so that I can stand in the healing gap! You are gracious to me, and I don't want to sin against You or allow old sin to remain.
