See That They Get Justice

‭Proverbs 31:8-9 – "Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice."

In the legal culture, the concept of someone speaking for another is common. Outside the legal profession, there is still a great need, as many can fill the shoes of someone speaking up for another who cannot speak for themselves.

Whether it be the elderly, the disabled, the uneducated, or the child, there is always someone who is in need of our advocacy as believers. That advocacy may be directed towards another person or governmental entity. It may also be as ambassadors of Christ that we are acting as advocates before the Lord in our time of prayer as we pray for others who are in need of our assistance.

One of the greatest things that you can do for another is to pray for them and put them on a prayer list. Eventually you may even use that as an opportunity to get to witness to somebody. To let them know that you have a prayer list and that you've put them on that prayer list for specific needs in their life creates a tremendous blessing emotionally and spiritually for the person that you're praying for. For many people, to realize that there's another person that cares about them so much that they would bring themselves as an advocate before God on their behalf can be really moving. It can be uplifting to that person in so many ways. It also creates a tremendous chance to go to the next step which is to talk to them about the Lord and their relationship with God.

Ultimately, what we are saying to this person is that we really care about them enough that we're willing to pray for them and ask God to work in their lives.

Seize the opportunity to create a prayer list for others who need God's intervention. Pray that God will lead you to the right people to intervene on their behalf seeking justice and speaking for them before the Lord.

There is a blessing for those that you pray for, but there's also a tremendous blessing for you once you place yourself in a position of spiritual advocacy.
