| William Emmons Jan 4 | The Song of Solomon 2:3 says, "In his shade I took great delight and sat down, And his fruit was sweet to my taste." This is an amazing picture of how believers should feel whenever they get close to the Lord. In him there is always protection, rest and nourishment. It's also a beautiful picture of how a wife should feel when she is near the husband she loves. If he is the man God called him to be, his wife will feel secure, at rest, cared for, and deeply nourished. If she does not, something in her husband needs to be faced, repented of, and changed. So, how do people feel when they get around you? Do they feel safe, cared about and nourished? Are they glad to see you come their way, and do they feel so at ease that they can drop their guard and be themselves? If not, you may want to step back and ask yourself why. What is it about your nature and unrefined personality that makes them back up and walk away until you uncover the truth, others will feel the need to protect themselves from you, rather than be protected by you. If your fruit is not sweet to the taste, and it's rotting on the branches , its a new year and time to change. Today's Word: What kind of fruit are you producing? Perhaps it's time to change! | | | |
