for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, "The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise." Mark 9:31
Jesus took time to prepare His disciples for what would soon happen. Although they did not understand, He did not want them to be caught by surprise by the things that would soon come to pass. He shared with them His death and His resurrection.
I am a person who doesn't really like surprises. Good or bad, I want to be prepared for what might come. I especially want to be prepared if it is something that is going to truly impact my life. I want the information even if I don't know how it applies yet. I'm the girl that reads the law or the policy that is going to impact me. I don't want the watered down version of someone's opinion. I want the black and white.
That is what Jesus was giving them. He still tries to do the same with us. If we are willing to listen Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth. It may not be the clear voice that Jesus provided to the disciples, but He will prepare us.
Lord help me to allow Your Holy Spirit to prepare me for what You have prepared for me. Guide me. Direct me and help me to obey.
