Going to Bat is the second book in the charming Mind and Me series. Celebrating mindfulness and positive self-talk, these stories help children think about how they speak to themselves and how they can rely on themselves in all sorts of situations.
In Going to Bat, Maya is trying to write a letter to her grandpa in India. She hasn't seen him in a long time and she has lots of news. It's a great chance to practise her Hindi too. But Mind is busy, full of fun and very distracting. There are so many things to think about, including joining the school Cricket Club. Soon the letter is forgotten and Maya is busy with all the challenges that come with joining a school team, including a bit of jealousy and competition.
Mind and Me is such a unique series teaching children that their mind is very special. It's with them through everything and needs to be cared for. Author Sunita Chawdhary hopes children will understand more about themselves through her stories and realise just how unique they are.
Children can use the power and magic of their own magnificent, marvellous, miraculous Mind to help Maya with 3 things:
Their 5 special senses - sight, sound, smell, taste and touch
Their memory for some terrific time-travelling
Their imagination to bring the story to life, in ways no one else can
Thank you to Knights Of and Ed PR for this fun book and for inviting me to be a part of the blog tour!
