It appears that the parents of the man had seen through this lady's facades all along and had warned Badmus but he had appeared to be love-struck.
This also appears to be another situation where spouse verification would have saved him a lot of trouble.
Badmus had been responsible for sending this young lady to the higher institution in the hope of enhancing the quality of their marriage but being in love does not imply taking over parental responsibility. A wise chap would have assisted but not totally appropriated the responsibility. Even after marriage, cost of education is high. She should be able to take up part of the cost of her personal development, unless the husband is capable. In this case, this is just a young man aspiring for success.
No more marriage
Her attitude suggests that she is too attached to her friends. This is dangerous. She doesn't seem to have a mind of her as she kept saying "What will I tell my friends?" Even reminded that she should not prioritize her friends over her groom, she insisted that his best was not good enough and that he should double his hustle to meet her expectations.
Finally, she clearly stated that she didn't care whether her spouse went borrowing to meet her expectations of a luxury trip to Paris. This is a red flag. Marriage is about caring. A partner who would not care would wreck your life and walk away, blaming you. Badmus is better fleeing this marriage.
