"There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your indignation; There is no health in my bones because of my sin. For my iniquities are gone over my head; As a heavy burden they weigh too much for me." Psalms 38:3-4
Sin and iniquities wreck havoc on our body. God is not pleased with us in our sin. This psalm was written by David for penitence. God was angry, or indignant, with him and because of it David was having trouble resting. He didn't feel healthy, and the weight of his sin was feeling heavy.
There is sin that we are not yet aware of and then there is sin we are aware of, and choose to continue in. This second type of sin weighs us down and impacts our relationship with God. It is forgiven because the gift Christ paid for on the cross is complete. Yet the impacts of sin are still present in our life here on this earth.
Sin often impacts us physically, because we feel the stress of not living in alignment with our spirit man. It is often held as a tightness in her body. I know I am holding an offense, I will often be feeling tight in my neck and shoulders. When I am choosing disobedience, I often feel upset to my stomach. Sin is never harmless.
If we want to live in a good condition, it is important to confess our sin and walk in the finished work of the cross. We are empowered by Holy Spirit to rise above our sin.
Lord, if there's any unconfessed and unrepented sin in my life, please reveal it to me. I don't want to carry any unnecessary burden that Christ already took to the cross. In Jesus name amen
