"Now as He drew near, He saw the city and wept over it"
Jesus was entering Jerusalem on His way to face an agonizing death. He looked at the city and wept. Jesus wept because Jerusalem would be destroyed and many would die.
The Israelites did not understand what would bring the peace and protection of God. They were just looking for a king.
The truths of God were hid from their eyes. They did not repent from intransigence which is the act of refusing or denying the views of God.
They were blinded by a genetic disposition of rebellion against God and a desire to live for self.
You and I have to face our intransigence every day of our life. We were born with inner nature to defy God and live for self. This will never completely leave us while on earth.
If anyone is a new creature in Christ Jesus old things pass away and all things become new. This doesn't just happen and we get a free ride.
We have to dwell in the presence of the Living Christ and seek His will for our life.
Jesus desires to change your thinking patterns, beliefs and motives which are in conflict with His values. He wants to refine you into His character.
Your responsibility is to live under the authority of the Holy Spirit who resides inside you. This requires you to pray, read the Bible, and listen for the voice of God.
As people of God, we have to be open to the conviction and correction of the Holy Spirit. Your relationship with Jesus is defined by sin.
The sanctification of a believer is a relentless work of God. Jesus sees everything in your life and observes all your thoughts and words. He measures your faith in dealing with all the challenges of life.
Jesus is not looking for perfection; He is looking for your openness to change and to let go of worldly living.
Jesus takes your life seriously!
