I haven't written anything since I came back from Pensacola. I've been pretty busy, between work, the holidays and what-not.
No "kicking," I've been staying away until I get this knee fixed. I miss it a lot and I might go back next week, even though my MRI is in two weeks, just tough it out.
The big news lately is spending Christmas with the family and enjoying my grandson, who is now six months old. It was really special having the whole family there - my wife, my parents, my brothers, my sons, my grandson. Just really special for me.
Then it's been back to the grind, year-end at work, getting rid of that "Charlie Brown" Christmas tree that died before we put it up. Watched my 'Noles third string get destroyed by Georgia. Bowl season has been such a let down this year, easily the worst bowl season I've ever experienced. I'm not counting that stupid COVID BS, and neither should anyone else. That lockdown BS was the worst period of my life, and completely counterproductive and unnecessary.
Finally upped my fillet game with some proper cutlery. Now I need to kill it with the fishing to do these bad boys justice.
Not sure what 2024 will hold. Obviously more time in Pensacola, maybe back to travelling around the state, getting back to St Augustine and other places. I want to get back to Taekwondo and figure out a way to build a decent workout system in Florida, too. But I need to get my body fixed and not be hobbling around.
More meditation, more writing. More fishing in Florida, obviously, but maybe more deep sea fishing out here, too. Get out to places like Louisiana, stretch my legs. Maybe I'll break out the stogies again - it's been years, and I wasn't smoking more than once a month back in the day, so it's not really a health issue. Find my own way again.
