James 1:2-3 – Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
I can't help myself. When there comes a better mousetrap, I've got to try it out. Such as my recent infatuation with e-bikes. The idea of having a charge up bike that would make it easier to pedal seems awfully appealing. It would almost be like having a motorcycle with pedals.
I've even seen some of the e-bikes that have the battery hidden in the tubing. I guess that's so no one will know that you're depending on a battery instead of your pedals. Nevertheless, I will probably put this on my Christmas list.
There is something to say, though, for getting that burn in your legs from pedaling your bike. It does make your legs hurt, but ultimately, it will make you stronger. For every week that you go out and ride your bicycle, I find it becomes just a little bit easier to cover that course.
Such is the Christian Life. As we endure the course before us, it builds endurance. Each time and every day, we become a little more capable of handling the stresses of life. The secret for each of us is to embrace our ride. Welcome the stress that creates the endurance for your future. Know that God has great things for you on the journey ahead.
Stay healthy and have a blessed week!
