Who else agrees that during selection of candidates for any kind of job at any level, they should be extensively tested as to their character?? Jobs selection processes, now-a-days, are more of a facts cramming race rather than quality examination of fit candidates for the given job profile. Most importantly, a job doesn't give anyone any right to act despotic as if everyone, especially a common person (woman/man/others), who comes across that selected officer has to act servile or lower than that officer. Candidates should be adjudged as to their character in terms of their valency regarding equality, benevolence, respect for the dignity of an individual, pragmatism, and humility, in addition to honesty, knowledge, practicality, logic, prompt decision-making, etc. (which they are already tested on).
Reason for writing this?? I just watched a video in which a TTE was brutally and continuously slapping a passenger on train just because the latter did not have the journey ticket. However, he was suspended later on, but what does this incident say about the mentality of those who get a job??
This is an incident that affected me to a good extent but I have been noticing the behaviour of people on various seats from quite a time by now, that anyone having any kind of job usually treats everyone else as if they are in front of those officers to beg for something.
Do these people have any kind of special character traits or they are lacking in basic good character?? The latter proposition rings truest. Just observe.
