(Photo at left not actually from Arisia, but it exudes the right energy.)
Arisia 2024 will be my tenth Arisia *(It will be my nine-year-old's ninth, as he attended his first at just six weeks old. Crazy. The hell did the time go??)
Arisia itself has fast become my forever convention -- the one I make sure I get to, whatever else might be going on at the time. It sits at such a wonderful crossroads, combining sci-fi, fantasy, anime, pop culture, literature, Renaissance/SCA, science, neurodivergent, LGBT/queer, and general geek content, that it's hard not to find at least something you're interested or invested in.
Anyway, after the forced hiatus COVID bestowed upon the convention (forcing us virtual in 2021 and fully cancelled in 2022), in 2023, the return so excited me I did what I'd been nervous about doing for years and finally applied to be a panelist. Nerve-wracking though it was, it was also a great time.
I return to two more panels in 2024.
If anyone else is attending Arisia Boston, find me on the following two panels:
Making Makers Make, Saturday, January 13th @ 8:30 pm (Stone)
Fight for Your Kid's Rights: Special Education, Sunday, January 14th, 4pm (Marina 3)
Looking forward to seeing people, and happy to be back at Arisia another year.
Take care of yourselves, and each other.
