"My thoughts," says the Lord, "are not like yours,
and my ways are different from yours.
As high as the heavens are above the earth,
so high are my ways and thoughts above yours." Isaiah 55:8-9
This scripture was part of a daily devotional that I read with others. The New Testament scripture came to mind:
As the scripture says,
"Who knows the mind of the Lord?
Who is able to give him advice?"
We, however, have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16
I questioned, but do we use it? Several of the group shared different interpretations of what the second verse really meant.
I sat in my office thinking several hours afterwards about these two passages, I thought about the difference between the old and New Testament. We in the New Testament have the Holy Spirit living within us, the spirit of God. It is Holy Spirit within us that reveals the secret things of God.
His thoughts are still above mine, but I take God at His word. If His Word says it, I believe it. I have the ability to access the mind of Christ. I have the ability to allow Holy Spirit to work through me to reveal to me the things that I couldn't know in the natural. That is real. In the natural I don't think like God, but supernaturally Holy Spirit within me does.
Lord, help me to learn to allow Holy Spirit to reveal Your mind to me. I know I tend to rely on natural knowledge, but I would much rather have Godly wisdom and supernatural revelations. You thoughts are higher than min, but You have given me the mind of Christ.
