one thing i notice from my well-maintained habits is that i no longer question it—should i do it? should i not do it?—anymore:
it's just—non-negotiable.
no matter how much my negative self tries to talk myself out of it, at the end of the day, i just do it.
also because not doing it makes me feel... crappy, unfulfilled.
that sheds some light into what might help in building habits:
to just show up.
no matter what.
and that it's okay to show up suboptimally, because at this stage, what matters is building the habit of it, not necessarily the actual work.
and that it's okay too if we fail to do so from day to day; the key is to get back into it whenever possible.
there will be lots of lags and errors—but in the long term, we'll thank ourselves
for just showing up.
