Patience has eluded me on more than one occasion.
Mostly due to my lack of seeking it.
Yet, I'm blessed to be learning it's value and the peace which patience brings.
For when I'm lacking patience peace is even more absent.
Thankfully, the Lord has been using a variety of circumstances to teach me how to choose patience.
One way is through my crocheting.
There's no skipping to the end when creating something.
There's a very specific and detailed way to begin and then steps to follow which continue until one has the object put together.
With my most recent project, little mice, they require not only being crocheted and then stuffed and finished crocheting, but ears made, faces embroidered, as well as clothes.
These are not too time consuming, but it's a process which won't be correct unless I'm patient and faithful to do each step.
It's worth the effort, and I'm enjoying making them.
And it's a good lesson to apply to life.
I need to have patience with every part.
It's important that I look to the Lord and follow the steps He has laid out, not try to skip to the things I want to do or ignore those I don't like.
Every day is an opportunity and I want to live trusting God for each step.
Galatians 6:9 NKJV — And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
Dear Lord Jesus,
Thank You for Your Word! Thank You for Your blessings and Your patience with me. Thank You for teaching me to be patient and faithful in prayer and trust. Thank You for reminding me that You alone are able to do what is required and I can rest in You and Your promises. Please continue to help me be patient. Lord, help me remember Your Word and apply it daily. Thank You for Your great mercy and grace. I am so thankful for Your salvation. May my life bring glory to Your name. Amen.
