TOPIC: A HEART FULL OF FAITH IV
TEXT: JEREMIAH 17:8
For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit. KJV
Great are the blessings that accompany the man that trust in the Lord and make him his hope. He is likened as a tree, who is planted by the rivers. We can further liken the river to be the resource of God, which ensures nourishment and constant sustenance to the tree. It enables it produces good and edible fruits, throughout the year with leaves that are ever green. This crafted picture can be referred to as a well secured life with consistent source of help.
I am certain you want your life to be like this. Let me remind you that the reason Jesus cursed the fig tree in Mark 11:12-14 was because he came closer to the tree and found no fruits on it. The tree appears outwardly like a productive one by having broad leaves, however, when Jesus came to it with his disciples, it has no fruit. Then, he cursed the fig tree, which withered away. Your life must not look like you have been with Jesus outwardly, but when men come close to you, then, it lacks the fruits and substance of those who knew their Lord.
This shouldn't be your life. Therefore, it is important that you bear the fruits of righteousness by faith, trusting in the Lord who is able to keep your life steady in his grace. Don't turn your hope and trust unto mere men even though men are the conduit through which God will release his blessings to your life. However, they must not be your focus. Your heart must be fixed, trusting the Lord in whatsoever circumstances you find yourself. Such that, even when men are being stirred up against you, because your hope is in the Lord, you will be able to stand strong and firm against all odds.
He who trust in the Lord is a tree that is planted by the rivers of water. He has no fear of heat or drought. Her root is broadly spread forth in the river, receiving nourishment. Will you please, stay strong in the Lord Jesus? Allow him express his lordship over your life and stay faithful to his commands. It is beautiful to recognise that faith in the Lord is the most important factor in your walk with him. Let your heart be full of faith in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
PRAYER
Thank you, Father of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Indeed, I believe in you and trust in your manifold goodness and grace. Help me to keep my focus on you and my heart stayed on your word. Such that faith is continually birthed in me in Jesus' name. Amen
