The song - 'We Need A Little Christmas' from the Broadway musical 'Mame' - always reminds me of my firstborn's first Christmas.
I was decorating the tree with my four-month-old son in my arms. The song came on the radio, and I started dancing around the living room with him.
When the lyric "I need a little angel sitting on my shoulder" played, I got teary because now I had my own real-life Angel sitting in my arms.
Little did I know then that years later, that child of mine would perform in his school's production of "Mame."
There I was with his younger brothers, watching my twelve-year-old Angel on a stage, giving it his all.
And again, I got teary, wondering what I did to deserve the blessing that he and his brothers are.
Even though "I've grown a little sadder grown a little older," my perfect angels on earth give me my forever "snappy, happy ever after." Not just at Christmas but every day of the year. 😍😍😍
