"Step outside your comfort zone and try something new. Lesser-known grape varieties or regions are often a great source of good value and quality wines, and you can be sure to find this in the award-winning Tesco Finest range. Why not try the Tesco Finest English Sparkling (£21) this Christmas? Or branch out and try the Tesco Finest Carménère (£8.50) for a different, but equally delicious red to serve alongside your Christmas centrepiece." – Graham Nash, Tesco Wine Expert.
"For those who just can't move away from their favourites this Christmas, the Tesco Finest range also provides great value options. The Tesco Finest 2013 Vintage Port, which won gold at this year's International Wine Challenge, is available for just £22 and the multi award-winning Tesco Finest Premier Cru Champagne is on our shelves for just £25." – Kevin Meehan, Tesco Wine Expert.
"We're really proud to have won the IWC Own-Label Range of the Year award for the second time in a row! It's a testament to the quality of our Tesco Finest wines. The multi award-winning Premier Cru Champagne is produced for Tesco by Union Champagne in Avize, from hand-harvested grapes primarily grown in Premier Cru vineyards in the Côte des Blancs, south of Epernay. Aged for 36 months, this extra maturation results in elegant flavours of citrus, green apple and brioche with a fine mousse. Perfect to toast a special occasion this festive season.
IWC 2023 Silver and IWSC 2023 Silver
Made with Glera and Pinot Noir grapes, this light and refreshing Prosecco rosé is full of fresh ripe red berries and citrus fruit flavours with a delicate and elegant mousse. Serve chilled for a perfect celebratory drink, as an apéritif or with light desserts.

Chenin Blanc is a grape that shines in the South African sun. This wine was produced by the family-owned Stellenrust winery in the iconic Stellenbosch region. Aromas of apricots, honey and apple are followed by complex but elegant flavours of ripe pear with subtle hints of vanilla oak. This is a perfect wine to serve alongside a roasted sea bass or chicken stroganoff.
IWC 2023 Bronze and IWSC 2023 Bronze
The historic Côtes de Gascogne region of southwestern France is noted for producing great wines at fantastic value. This is a blend of the local Colombard and Gros Manseng grapes that produce a wine full of lime, blossom and citrus flavours with a refreshing finish. A dry and crisp finish, it's a perfect match for creamier fish dishes such as a comforting fish pie on a chilly evening.
This elegant and refreshing Provence Rosé is carefully sourced from picturesque vineyards that spend the year basking in the Mediterranean sun. Delicious stone fruit flavours are balanced with notes of fresh strawberries and redcurrants to create this crisp, delicate and dry wine with its signature pale pink colour. The wine pairs perfectly with antipasti and delicate winter salads.
Pinot Grigio grapes have a beautiful copper tinge to their skins which gives this wine its delicate pink colour. The floral aromas lead into crisp and refreshing peach flavours with strawberry notes. Produced from grapes cultivated in the Dolomiti area in the North of Italy. Excellent with turkey or vegetable risotto.
Tesco Finest McLaren Vale Grenache, 14.5% abv, £10
New to the Tesco range this autumn, this wine is made of the highest-quality Grenache grapes grown in the prestigious McLaren Vale of South Australia. Bursting with red fruits, fresh herbs, and a hint of spice, this wine goes beautifully alongside a roast lamb or nut roast.
IWC 2023 Silver and IWSC 2023 Silver
Peter Morrell, Editor, comments "I have tried this wine and it is an excellent example of a Rioja. It's made by the well respected Baron de Ley winery and is aged in oak barrels for at least 16 months before being carefully matured in bottles for a minimum of 20 months.
"The bouquet on the nose is intense, with concentrated notes of raspberry and cherry. Overarching these are strong oak and vanilla aromas. In the mouth it feels bold with well structured tannins, making it pleasantly dry. On the palate the oak and fruit remain and are joined by notes of spice, plum, coffee and tobacco. The finish is dry, with persistent oak and fruit flavours.
"This wine would pair beautifully with slow roasted lamb shoulder or cassoulet."
IWC Great Value Champion Sweet 2023, IWC Silver 2023 and IWSC Silver 2023
From Australia's De Bortoli winery, this intense dessert wine boasts sweet almond and lemon curd on the palate with a deliciously fresh finish. Serve alongside your favourite cheeseboard or on its own with a few ice cubes.
