Aspiring country music singer Noah Bryan is at odds with his father who thinks he should abandon his dream in order to help work the family farm. After he leaves for a music tour, he receives a letter from a lawyer -- a former short-term girlfriend died, naming him the father of her young son. The story progresses as parenthood teaches him lessons about the things in life that are most important and lasting.
This is what I call a "feel-good" Christian film. The plot is predictable and formulaic. By the end, everything is happily wrapped up -- true love is found, relationships are restored, success is on the horizon. It's not my cup of tea, but if you are just looking for a few hours of escapism, you may enjoy it.
I was also disappointed in the music, which was closer to pop music than traditional country.
VERDICT: 2 STARS.
