Scripture - Your old sin-loving nature was buried with him by baptism when he died; and when God the Father, with glorious power, brought him back to life again, you were given his wonderful new life to enjoy. For you have become a part of him, and so you died with him, so to speak, when he died; and now you share his new life and shall rise as he did. Your old evil desires were nailed to the cross with him; that part of you that loves to sin was crushed and fatally wounded, so that your sin-loving body is no longer under sin's control, no longer needs to be a slave to sin; Romans 6:4-6
Thought about what the Scripture means - I died with Christ and died to the power of sin ruling over my life
Application to my life - Sin does not rule my life; it died with Christ on the cross. The sin of gluttony, binge eating, and food addiction is dead. It has no power in my life. Bitterness has no power in my life. Comparison has no power in my life. Selfish ambition has no power in my life. Jealousy has no power in my life. Judgmental attitude has no power in my life.
Response back to God - Lord, thank You for allowing me to die with You and for the power that was lost to sin in my life. I thank You that no sin has power over my life. I pray that You would continue to reveal to me areas where I need to change. Reveal to me where I have allowed sin ground in my life. Reveal to me where I have become comfortable in sin. Remove it from me and allow me to walk in the fullness of Your power.
