Les investissements dans le mainframe affichent une dynamique significative dans le DevOps et l'AIOps, en mettant l'accent sur la sécurité. BMC avance des tendances étonnantes.
Nonante quatre pour cent des personnes interrogées ont une perception positive du mainframe et 63 % ont signalé une augmentation de leurs investissements dans le mainframe au cours de l'année écoulée.
Telles sont les deux conclusions phares du 2023 Mainframe Survey Report. BMC, son auteur, y voit « une nouvelle appréciation de la résilience et de l'évolutivité du mainframe a émergé de la forte dépendance à l'égard de la technologie dans le cadre de l'évolution du paysage numérique résultant de la pandémie de COVID-19. » L'enquête de cette année -la dix-huitième !- menée auprès de plus de 800 professionnels cadres et techniques révèle quelques tendances intéressantes.
Ainsi, DevOps et AIOps continuent de croître pour le mainframe tandis que le volume de données et le nombre de bases de données continuent d'augmenter de manière significative.
De même, la conformité et la sécurité restent la priorité absolue des praticiens du mainframe -une priorité apparue pour la première fois en 2019.
Le cloud est apparu comme l'une des quatre principales priorités pour l'année à venir pour 35 % des personnes interrogées, avec un intérêt accru pour la mise en œuvre de technologies cloud telles que le stockage et la sauvegarde.
Innovation DevOps continue et croissance de l'AIOps prévue pour l'année à venir
Avec la croissance du mainframe, l'accent est mis sur l'innovation et l'utilisation accrue de DevOps et d'AIOps pour obtenir des résultats concrets.
Soixante-deux pour cent des personnes interrogées ont déclaré utiliser des pratiques DevOps sur le mainframe, reconnaissant la nécessité de mettre à jour rapidement les applications principales pour répondre à la demande de l'entreprise et améliorer la qualité du développement des applications.
L'utilisation de l'AIOps dans les environnements mainframe et non mainframe a considérablement augmenté, passant de 25 % en 2021 à 32 % en 2023. Les défis liés à la mise en œuvre de l'AIOps, notamment le coût, la complexité et le besoin de compétences spécialisées, ont diminué. Les utilisateurs actuels signalent une disponibilité améliorée, la capacité de détecter rapidement les problèmes et la capacité de comprendre les tendances à l'avance comme les plus grandes valeurs commerciales apportées par l'AIOps.
La conformité et la sécurité restent la priorité absolue pour la quatrième année consécutive
La conformité et la sécurité sont en tête de liste des priorités des organisations mainframe, avec 61 % des personnes interrogées les citant comme problèmes majeurs, suivies par l'optimisation des coûts (49 %), l'amélioration de l'automatisation (41 %) et la récupération des données (40 %).
Ces priorités correspondent à l'utilisation accrue de solutions d'identification personnelle (PII), à une augmentation de 7 % du nombre de personnes interrogées utilisant une solution dédiée de gestion des informations et des événements de sécurité sur mainframe (SIEM) depuis 2021, à la surveillance des utilisateurs privilégiés et à la gestion des accès, ainsi qu'aux tests d'intrusion externes.
