To John Rue,
Public. Professional. Personal. Private.
I have a few really good rituals that have become routine. One of these is my daily reading and writing. One of the "books" that I read daily is the Built to Lead Book (BBTL). I would not classify BBTL as a book but that is for a different time.
Today, when I opened BBTL it was John Rue's Builder's Journey.
I can't pass on this.
Brother John – I have never met anyone like you. Jim Gant has no words for all you have done for me. I accept the fact and know it is true - that it is all in God's grace – but still, I want to thank you in public. I want to thank you for the incredible professional you are. I want to thank you for the many personal and private struggles that you have helped me overcome.
And for picking me up when I fail and fall.
I am a better human being and on the path of 'Discipleship' because I see and hear in you someone whose behavior and belief manifest themselves each and every day.
That is no small task, my friend.
"Always Faithful".
Never met anyone who lives it the way you do, who breathes it the way you do.
I count among one of the biggest blessings in my life to have you close.
Thank you for pouring into me.
I love you so very much.
Together we transform - always, ALWAYS – TOGETHER.
Jim
Romans 13:8
The irony looking back is the point I thought I had arrived was a time I understood life least. It took suffering to realize how weak my CORE was and to be willing to be built by God and others. "Together, we transform" is truly God's motto—the master-builder of all. Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God. —2 Corinthians 1:3–4
