India makes history by launching Aditya L1 mission
Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has successfully launched its dream mission to Sun called 'Aditya L1' from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota. India becomes the first and only country in the world to launch the mission for studying Sun.
ISRO launched PSLV C57 rocket which carried 'Aditya L1' satellite to observe the sun with 125-day mission time. After launching sun mission successfully India gets closer for the completion of its maiden Solar expedition.
The Aditya L1 spacecraft will stay in Earth's orbit for sixteen days. After the completion of four months of journey the satellite will be put on the L1 point in the halo orbit around the Sun.

The aim of Aditya L1:
- Aditya L1 is designed to provide remote observations of the Solar corona and conduct in-situ observations of the Solar wind at L1 (Sun-Earth Lagrangian point), which is about 1.5 million kilometres from the Earth.
- The mission is launched to study the solar atmosphere, solar magnetic storms, and their impact on the environment around Eart
- It will also study of solar upper atmospheric (chromospheres and corona) dynamics and identify the sequence of processes that take place at multiple layers.
- The magnetic field topology and magnetic field measurements are also aimed in the solar corona for study.
Celebration:
Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his congratulations for the successful launch of Aditya L1 into an elliptical orbit.
He also stated that country's tireless scientific efforts will continue in order to develop a better understanding of the Universe for the welfare of entire humanity.
