Twas on this isle our forefathers
Did finally find a home.
West of all, 'neath mountains tall,
Far from the world they'd known.

From lands far east where once we lived
our elders marched this way.
A feral war fight, they fled by night,
avoiding light by day.

But monstrous knights with swords of steel
did chase and made them flee.
for fourty day they marched away
til they rought the western sea.

The first to step upon the stones
Of what is how Olus
Did find a creature bold in feature;
A gold and silver moose.

"Good tidings, weary traveler
And those who follow 'hind"
Did say he there, with sparkling hair
In a voice both hoarse and kind.

"These lands are open to ye folk,
Be poor or sick or blind.
Here will prosper those who foster
A fair and open mind"

The boy-king thanked the magic moose
for welcoming all his folk.
The moose did bow, then furrowed his brow.
A warning he then spoke.

"But hark these words, ye refuge child
For we rule hill and shore.
Should ye stay, the lord of day
Will not take kind to war.

The moose then led the countless meek
To the open moors and dales.
They built their farms, and with outstretched arms
Lived simply 'neath the gales.

But from the east by narrow ground
Came a brooding screeching wrawl.
So every guild did help to build
A great and sturdy wall.

The demon knights did strike again,
But sturdy stood the stone.
So first step child with temper mild
Was mighty on the throne.

The moose returned in royal hall
"You hark me not, o king?
I warn ye now, by the crown on your brow
The sun's wrath is not no thing."

"should you bring war upon our stones
your power soon shall fade.
we welcomed you hither, don't make make us consider
taking place in the starry shade

For many years the pact stood strong,

The kingdom fair and right.
But southern counties sought far off bounties
Of foreign gold delight.

For fifty days and fifty nights
South caval struck high mount.
"Mount ride, mount ride, he soon shal bide!"
Did shout each lord and count.

But when the horses rought the throne
The sky went black and red.
The sun's great ire set fields to fire
And brought them all to dread.

The old moose said "See what ye caused.
The sun shall hear no plea.
Your homes will burn, then you in turn
For all the stars to see."

You all could not make peace so now
The deal we made has broke.
My waring ignored, you face flame's lord
For every lie you spoke.

The clouds then parted for the moose
Who gathered all his kin.
The ancient fled from forest bed
Where centuries had they been.

Across the sea they marched along,
Then to the sky afar.
They rought the light, then by moon's might
Became the horizon star.

For forty hours the sun shone bright
To scorch the royal liars.
Those left did heal, and though a deal
they freed the southern Shires.

Twas on this isle our forefathers
Did finally find a home.
West of all, 'neath mountains tall,
Far from the world they'd known.

They fled a war and brought it here,
Where the sun did punish hard.
So respect the land, and it shall be grand
and not reduced to shard
