Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has called for restraint and self-discipline amid a spate of road accidents, over 600 of which the Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) said it has responded to this year.
In addition, the SLFS disclosed that it transported over 849 individuals to the hospital.
"Most accidents, and I say that without fear or favour, most accidents if there was less speed, the accidents would not have been so bad," Prime Minister Pierre observed Tuesday.
Pierre declared that as a people, Saint Lucians must take more personal responsibility for their actions and exercise restraint and self-discipline, especially in conflict resolution.
He was addressing a Town Hall meeting of his ruling Saint Lucia Labour Party (SLP).
