Life is like a camera
"Focus only on what's important, and you'll capture it perfectly" - Linda Poindexter. When I read this quote, it connected me to a theme that we had to write an article about. The camera was the word to be used in the title, as well as how I would interpret it in my everyday life. I thought of this because it also resonates with the way I use my phone.
Taking pictures of the things in nature that catch my eye or interest me. Usually, this is about the energy coming in, or the way sunlight plays with the shadows. Or the clouds in the sky, changing shape and being chased by the wind. Colors that appear in the morning or evening sky.
It's not very technical. More like I feel and feel, being aware. Walking outside I tune in to the energy, that's where my focus is. I feel or see what a story has to tell and what message wants to get across. My focus is also on listening, to my inner voice.
The nudges I get when something immediately catches my attention. I'm also visual, so for me, this is also a way of looking at the world. Some people orient themselves more through hearing or the senses. Visual aspects always get my attention. The focus is also on awareness.
Be aware of your surroundings. Able to be sensitive to the small changes, no matter how subtle they are. Promises for change, little nudges for me to listen to, tune in. To do that, I must also be aware of who I am. So, the moment you begin this journey of consciousness, you learn about who you are, what drives you, and what doesn't.
What affects you in a good or bad way, as well as its cause. I have worked my way through the various challenges I have faced throughout my life. The focus was one thing needed to kick things off and turn things around. It is a process of growth, nourishment, and sometimes emotional hard work to get through the different layers.
But when I put my focus on what was in front of me, what it made me feel, it also touched my insecurities. My full attention was caught. My intentions were to release any tense energy or stuck emotions. I wanted it clarified and also understood.
The way we are also part of the whole, our family, and our community has an impact on our development and growing up. The messages we receive, are also through religion, and traditions.
You can zoom in on everything that appeals to you or enlarge what is happening. What you apply changes the way you focus on a subject, emotion, or process. We can catch the essence or get lost in the diffuse image that presents itself.
Staying close to yourself allows you to focus on the things that are available. Whatever comes along, to help or assist you. Focusing on intention will allow us to move forward and find new ways to bring more balance and healing. If that's what you want to focus on. You can look in your photo album and view the photos of your past. They can be black and white or in full and bright colors.
Depending on the different phases in your life and the challenges you encountered along the way. The way you deal with experiences that come your way influences the images you develop. Like the dark room where you develop your photos, waiting for the process to dry and expose the images. Using the camera as a tool to focus on where your attention is drawn.
To bring more light into the dark corners, sometimes use the flashlight to bring it out. The more exposure through love and light I bring, it will shine and sparkle. Losing its dark hues, shining with brilliance. My focus is on every aspect, of my spiral path, to bring it all out.
Every aspect that needs to be seen, every detail that needs to be heard and understood. I walk my path, with my camera at hand, with focus through the lens. The lens of clarity and clarification. Adjusting the intensity, and focus and using zooming in on what really matters.
And so it will happen.
