Today's prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: "tune." Use it any way you'd like. Enjoy
"You can tune a guitar, but you can't tune a fish," came up in the vast mishmash of an ocean that is my memory Friday morning when I read the prompt. Then, curious but not planning, I looked up the expression. What I found was, "You Can Tune a Piano, But You Can't Tune a Fish," as the title of a 1978 album by REO Speedwagon. I don't remember the piano part at all. What I do remember is that this sentence related to not fishing for tuna if you put dolphins at risk. Dolphins swim above and around tuna, so they often got, and probably still get caught in the nets and are killed or maimed which I don't want to think about at all. So there was a big campaign to boycott tuna to save dolphins. I'm talking about the marine mammals who are highly intelligent, not the dolphin fish, though today, I would not eat either one. Back in the 70s, I wrote letters to the tuna companies urging them to stop killing dolphins. As a result of the international campaign, we started seeing "dolphin safe" on some tuna cans. Back before I became vegan, that's the symbol I'd look for when buying tuna.
My mom used to make creamed tuna fish on toast. I loved it as a kid. That's a tangent and was before I knew anything about the tuna/dolphin dilemma. I don't know if "dolphin safe" is really dolphin safe, but I've been a big supporter of people trying to make an effort.
To get from dolphins, back to tune, we could remember the theme song for the TV show, Flipper. Though I don't know if flipper as treated all that well, he or she did raise awareness about dolphin intelligence.

Firefall did a song called, "Dolphin's Lullaby" which is very mellow, and then there was John Denver's "Ancient Rhymes, A Dolphin's Lullaby" which I've probably share on this blog before. There's a lovely book that goes with the song. I miss John Denver and those days in the 70s so full of hope. Sigh. Hope is still alive, somewhere. Oh, there's a sad moment there. It's okay to be sad sometimes....
I think I just got lost in the stream of consciousness.
Since I think I've shared the John Denver song before, here's the firefall tune:

Well, that has a little sad sound to it, too. Dang.
"I won't let no bad dreams come and bother you." That's a nice line for a lullaby.
Music is powerful in how it can change our moods. Now, I have to find one that's more.... not sad....

Thank God feelings are not final. They come and go. Happy and hope come around again, and again. Happy climbing! Happy napping, or whatever you choose to do with your Saturday. May you find many moments to enjoy.
As for me, I'm going to the beach..... The water will make me happy.
