I must say in today's thoughts, this is an exciting place to be, but we must continue a life of obedience, and abide in Christ. He is our dwelling place and we are His abode! You can ask and He will provide when you stay fixed, immovable in Christ!
Christ himself states in John 15:7 – 8 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples (KJV).
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, [they] are spirit, and [they] are life (KJV).
David the Psalmist was a man after God's own heart, who spoke of the importance of obedience to the Word of God.
Psalms 119:9-12 Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed [art] thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes (KJV).
The two scriptures below speak of the power of the Word of God and the change it will do in one's life if applied and obeyed. Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart (KJV).
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord (KJV).
Jesus himself spoke, of the importance of abiding in Him, remaining, obeying God and His Word. So being filled with the Holy Spirit, is being lead, guided and "abiding in Christ."
John 15:9 – 11 As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my father's commandments, and abide in his love. These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and [that] your joy might be full (KJV).
1 John 2:5 – 6 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked (KJV).
