I still insist that family mediations doesn't work when it comes to marriage. I said it in my book Happily Married, Happily Single, No Compromise and I will say it here again. This is why!
Normally, during the family tribunal, the guilty one just denies or ceremoniously admits, then everyone is happy.
The following day, they proceed with their normal ways, with no genuine repentance whatsoever.
The other backlash to your side, the complainant, is that you have opened up too much to people who are potentially envious of you. You have laid bare your soul, your weakness is already out there. Not everyone who claims to help you is genuine. Some of them will be waiting for an opportunity to pull you down, even if it means exposing you to the whole world.
Prov 16:28
A perverse man spreads dissension, and a gossip divides close friends.
What to do? Seek mediation by people who have your best interest at heart as a couple. All things being equal, no true shepherd advocates for a divorce.
I encourage pastoral interventions.
