The practice of lectio divina or holy reading is about reading a section of Scripture slowly and then focusing on a word or phrase that attracts our attention. In this short book, the author shares her own version of this practice with phrases that have been stopping points for her. The hope is that they will encourage readers to find their own favorite phrases for prayer and meditation.
The book is divided into three segments: Assurance, Invitation and Admonition, and Mystery and Surprise. Each meditation is short, and easy to use one at a time as a daily devotion (that's what I've been doing). At the end there is a listing of other works that have been cited and might be interesting for further study.
VERDICT: 5 STARS. I love every book I have tried by this author!
