Day Eight - Sabbath

"But the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do." Deuteronomy 5:14

Sunday is always a special day for me. It is a day for my time with God and my husband. I commune with Him with His Body of Believers as we worship, sing songs, clap, and fellowship with each other. Then my hubby and me we go on a date. That date could be a long hike, a bike ride, a lunch out, or a movie date. That day is exclusively set aside for the two of them. Everyone knows I will not be at any baby shower or other events that I am invited to until time with the two most important beings in my life happen. I am always bummed when an event comes that I having been waiting to attend but happens on a Sunday and I can't go. I miss it, but that is temporary loss while time with God and Dan is best.

"For somewhere he has spoken about the seventh day in these words: "On the seventh day God rested from all his works." Hebrews 4:4. God rest, so I too rest with Him.

How are we spending time with God on Sunday instead of other things that keep us from Him?
