He begs for change
His smile a shadow
Of his former face
Consumed by frustration
Turned inside out
And what you see
Is a shell of a man
Lost inside his day job
He begs for change
His future and past
Lost in his cloudy eyes
At night he disappears
Swallowed whole
By fears
That steadies his path
Bought and sold
I watch as he boxes
Against unseen demons
That lick the edges
Of his reality
Bobbing and weaving
A quick jab to the head
And he's down and out
Ko'd by life.
