Hundreds of times a day, epiphanies arise and I am open to them,
whether in the garden or walking the dogs, and I would call these moments
information leaks from the Universe, as if the sky had tiny holes and bits
of drift were floating down like dandelion fluff or the cottonwood tree's cotton,
settling onto my head, barely noticeable, and yet there is a presence,
a ripple in the cosmic flow, L'Engle's wrinkle in time;
Some call it Guidance, only it takes attuning to silence in a comfortable way before one can apprehend the messages, and it has taken most of my life
abiding in that zone to prefer it over any sort of media-saturated lifestyle or din; nature speaks, but not in words, animals communicate, but not in our language, trees and breezes have stories to tell, though busy minds would discount all the nuances necessary to comprehend, and much is missed until, as a collective, we have fallen fast asleep to our finer senses and now, as wildfires dot the entire US mainland and the thermometer soars well into the hundreds while ocean temperatures rise and earthquakes rattle in our skulls we wonder, nursing our worst fears, how will we survive the coming global changes, and will they affect us or those we love?
And so I think today's insights need attending to, we are all galactic receivers, each with our own frequency bands, and these bits of fluff just might solve dilemmas of our own or those of another, and sharing them, silly at first though they might seem, could prove key to unlocking heretofore unthought-of solutions, plastic-eating fungi to clean up our oceans or corn-based take-out plates and flatware to lessen plastic in landfills and like bolts thrown out of the blue, solutions begin to obviate, groups of like-minded souls begin to gather, and the world begins to glimpse the aloha every Hawaiian knows to their bones as new strings are tuned, a new symphony played, while we sing the songs of Creation, inclusive and embracing, honoring others' epiphanies and dreams, as together we envision a new and sustainable future.
