L'outil Lifecycle CO2e TradeOff aide à estimer l'empreinte carbone totale (Scope 1, 2 et 3) pour toutes les émissions diffusées tout au long de la chaîne de valeur, y compris les émissions indirectes.
Schneider Electric le présente comme un nouveau cadre pour aider les entreprises à comprendre l'impact environnemental complet des centres de données d'entreprise. Le cadre, expliqué dans un livre blanc, comprend l'outil.

Une priorité pour l'industrie
Alors que les États-Unis et l'Union européenne proposent des règles pour obliger à améliorer et standardiser les déclarations liées au climat, la comptabilisation et le rapport sur les émissions de Scope 3 deviendront une exigence future. L'établissement et la mise en œuvre d'un cadre de GES qui intègre le comptage du carbone et la définition d'objectifs tout en examinant systématiquement les données de l'entreprise et les sources d'émissions, sont la base pour créer un plan de réduction réalisable. La production d'électricité, les émissions de GES et la consommation d'eau déterminent l'empreinte carbone et l'empreinte hydrique des centres de données, y compris celle de ses fournisseurs.
