Shanky
Salty
In shadows cast upon a land so fair,
A sinister tale unfolds, an unspoken despair.
Where innocence crumbles, hopes fade away,
In the heart of darkness, a tragedy holds sway.
A land that cherishes daughters so dear,
Yet plagued by a menace that spreads fear.
A whispered secret, a heinous crime,
Female foeticide, a sin of our time.
In womb's sanctuary, life's promise blooms,
A precious soul, destined to break through gloom.
But wicked hands, devoid of remorse,
Snatch away futures, taking a gruesome course.
Oh, daughters of tomorrow, silenced in the womb,
Denied the chance to blossom and bloom.
Your laughter, your dreams, forever denied,
In a world where prejudice and ignorance abide.
Let us rise against this cruel plight,
Unite our voices, kindle a righteous light.
For every girl child, a beacon of hope,
In a world that must embrace, not elope.
Educate, empower, and nurture with care,
Celebrate the daughters, let them dare.
Break the chains that bind, with love and might,
For every girl is a guiding star, shining so bright.
Together we stand, with conviction and grace,
Erasing the stain, leaving no trace.
A pledge to protect, to cherish and adore,
The girl child, our future, forevermore.
Let this poem be a reminder, strong and true,
To fight against a crime that should never accrue.
Female foeticide, let it be no more,
In a world where love and equality soar.
