John 11:41-42 – So they rolled the stone aside. Then Jesus looked up to heaven and said, "Father, thank you for hearing me. You always hear me, but I said it out loud for the sake of all these people standing here, so that they will believe you sent me."
My wife says that I'm starting to become hard of hearing. Unless she's actually looking at me when she speaks, often I cannot hear her. I am afraid that is something that comes with age. You just can't hear as good as you used to.
For me, there is nothing more irritating than when someone speaks to me and I can't hear them. I often have to walk right up to them and make them look at me as they speak. My wife says she thinks I need a hearing aid. But I push back. That is the last thing that I really want.
All of us want to hear. And all of us want to be heard. And to be on either side of that coin is frustrating. That's why today, when I read this scripture, it really hit home, because I am probably approaching getting a hearing aid one day.
As a believer, the thought that God hears everything that I say is encouraging. It makes me realize that I don't have to say it over and over again. But when I speak, I am sure in my heart that God hears me the first time.
Today, be confident and know that when you speak to God, He hears your words. He does not ignore you and He does not need a hearing aid. God hears everything and responds in a way that is in your best interest. Today, be bold, be strong and be confident because the Lord hears your words.
Stay healthy and have a blessed day!
