If you were holding your breath on the so called China reopening, you are in for a surprise and may want to reconsider. Here is the back story.
Beijing lifted its zero Covid policy near the end of last year, after three years of strict lockdowns. Being the "world's factory," expectations around the globe was both relieved and excited to see the country's 1.4 billion people undergoing a "post-Covid recovery."
Unfortunately, that reopening has sputtered.
For one thing, the Covid has never really gone away. But the Beijing authority rather take the chance to save its economy from collapsing. Its gamble was a bold move but fraud with unpreparedness. The anticipated bounce back has fallen short of expectations.
Think our holiday seasons will be affected by the lack of recovery in China?
