Robots is a 2023 American science fiction romantic comedy. It is based on a book named "THE ROBOT WHO LOOKED LIKE ME" written by Robert Sheckley. Robots is set in America in the future where advanced robotics have made it possible for humans to use lifelike robots for their chores and as unpaid workers. Americans have chased foreigners away and robots are taking over jobs and are being used as slaves. This movie tells the story of Charles and Elaine who both have a very life like robot that looks identical to them which is illegal.
Charles's robot is called C2 and Elaine's robot is called E2. Charles send his robot to his job unknowingly to his coworkers and his boss while he stays at home playing video games. In the evenings when C2 gets back , Charles goes to the skating rink to meet women who he finds attractive and wants to sleep with. He meets women and sends C2 on dates with them and after a while he goes to sleep with them. Elaine on the other hand meets men , spends their money and sends E2 to sleep with them.
One day, Charles meets Elaine at the skating rink and he found her really attractive and he really wanted to sleep with her. But on the day they agreed to meet at her house he was scheduled for a work meeting at the same time. Risking jail time, he and C2 goes out at the same time. He sent C2 to his meeting while he went to Elaine's house but he got the address mixed up and he went to the work meeting while C2 ends up at Elaine's house and sleeps with E2.
E2 and C2 sleep together and end up falling in love. They also connected over the fact that they are both robots with owners who over work them and they both want their freedom. So they eloped to Mexico. C2 and E2 are now fleeing for Mexico, where robots have the same rights to things as people. Elaine and Charles must prevent their personal androids from exacting revenge on them while they try to run away . Will Elaine and Charles develop feelings for one another while pursuing E2 and C2?
