Told from the viewpoint of a young boy, this book records all the wonderful things about an extended family celebration of Thanksgiving. There are hugs and kisses, romping in the leaves, sweet cider, yummy pies, loving conversations and especially the good feeling of God's presence.
The illustrations by Amy June Bates are beautifully impressionistic, with warm, bright colors. The story is conveyed in gentle rhymes, based on Psalm 92:
"It is good to praise the Lord and make muisc to your name, O Most High."
VERDICT: 5 STARS. A great way to talk to young children about being grateful for daily blessings.
