"Give assistance, not advice, in a crisis."
—Aesop
What a simple yet effective quote to live by. As previously mentioned on my blog, I am a fervent believer in "What goes around, comes around". There is a careful balance observed by nature which aims to restore justice and peace. While I don't let the naysayers have a hold over me, I am the kind of person who stands up to a bully. And at times, people lose their voice due to various contributing factors. Some are just going through rough phases in their lives, which don't make them bad people. Perhaps there are wise lessons to be learnt. In such situations, assistance of any sort is always encouraged and welcomed. And the more creative and selfless they transpire out to be, the results vary exponentially.
The beauty of helping someone else out of the purity of your heart has a lasting and fulfilling effect. I have had the privilege of coming across such elegant souls and what I have observed is they give without measure. And what enhances their benevolent nature is their background story. It takes a strong person to continue spreading goodwill despite going through harsh and arduous predicaments. One is inspired and motivated by walking similar paths. Frequently, strangers always arrive at the eleventh hour when you are in dire need of assistance. Weirdly enough, but it rings true in many of my experiences as well. Personally, I feel the act of helping out a complete stranger displays a noble character within.
It is quite a cosmic intervention when assistance arrives out of the blue. However, in essence, it is your deeds that have circulated their way back to you. Have you observed a time when you offered help to someone because you could at that fateful hour and when in need, the favour was returned? It needn't have been from the same person. Voila! It's the law of nature working at its best. We might have forgotten our gesture, but there is an invisible justice system keeping tabs and a watchful eye. Do good but be mindful of unnecessary overextension, as some possess contrasting values.
In a world where people look after their own needs and convenience, it takes courage and kindness to help others find their bearings. With a heart and mind working out of pure bliss and gratitude, the rewards arrive at a favourable rate and in magical forms. One must concentrate on doing good work that makes a difference at least in some corner of the world along with yours. Sharing your happiness and blessings returns tenfold as helping others heal and prosper, we involuntarily heal and prosper ourselves. What we wish to receive must be given first by surpassing our fears, inhibitions, and reservations. For every act, there is an equal or greater consequence or compensation. The choice is ours.
"Helping others is not just about providing assistance, it's about providing hope."
