What is it about Karma Awareness?

"Unalterable are the laws of karma, cause and effect cannot be escaped."
- Sogyal Rinpoche -

THE LAW OF KARMA

The Law of karma is that Law wherein entities arrange within themselves, on any level, to make just payment for any action committed that affects the welfare of oneself or another. The Law of Karma is irrevocable and may be depended upon to bring those who stray from the Law of Unity back into balance through this Divine Justice of the Universe. Awareness tells you not to believe anything, but to question, explore, doubt, and discover for yourself what is the truth. Cosmic Awareness only indicates and suggests.

The Cosmic Laws – Paul Shockley

Essentially, karma is about the principle of cause and effect; that everything in this world is interdependent. Every action has an effect on us and the world surrounding us, and contributes to our and others' future reality.

"Karma means that whatever we do, with our bodies, speech, or minds, will have a corresponding result. Each action, even the smallest, is pregnant with its consequences. It is said by the masters that even a little poison can cause death, and even a tiny seed can become a huge tree. And as Buddha said: "Do not overlook negative actions merely because they are small; however small a spark may be, it can burn down a haystack as big as a mountain.

Karma does not decay like external things, or ever become inoperative. It cannot be destroyed 'by time, fire, or water.' Its power will never disappear until it is ripened."

We were asked to share our insight about Karma or Karma Awareness. There is so much to be said about this topic and so much information to be found through the internet when you look it up. You will be directed in oh so many ways and perceptions and religious insights.

This reminded me of the first footsteps I made on my journey through the world of a totally new perspective and language at the time in my mid-twenties. When I was a teen, I was fascinated by India. The visits the Beatles brought In February 1968, the Beatles traveled to Rishikesh, in northern India, to attend an advanced Transcendental Meditation (TM) training session at the ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi was something that brought the East to the West.

What did I know about Buddhism, Transcendental Meditation, or any philosophy or religion that came from this part of the world? Being raised in a liberal catholic family, I was always reading about different ways of vision and broadening my way of looking at the world, just because I could and was a curious and eager student. Better said chronicle student, for my learning days are far from over yet.

The Beatles brought this way of living in an ashram with a Guru, a Teacher through all the attention the Press was given it back to Europe and the Western World, and the fusion between East and West was born. In the Christian church there was only spoken of being sinners and in some cases no way to repent from any sin. So when the term Karma became more known and after several books later on my part and a lot of people who also embraced this eastern philosophy, the public became more acquainted with not just the term yet also with the meaning behind it.

My own awareness about the law of cause or action and reaction was raised when I started Spiritual Healing in 1982. All I had ever questioned about certain experiences I had in my childhood, fears I came across, and dislikes I had that could come out of the blue without any warning or any experience in this lifetime to connect to, became more and more clear. I literally was like doing a major karmic cleanup this lifetime. The first time I realized it was connected with something I never could have known.

This didn't happen in my lifetime was blowing me away because of the insight I received at the same time. In the years that followed it became more and obvious to me, that every event I had with medical issues, surgery, and scars even had a root connection in other lifetimes to be healed and cleared so to speak in this lifetime. The body helped me so to speak to bring it more and more in my awareness and the role it plays as well as the reason why it did the way it did.

Over the years I also realized not every road is the same, and not every experience is alike. We all have chosen some way to become more aware and by repetition, we learn to change our behavior, and our way of acting to change any outcome that isn't working out in our own benefit. I also learned it is like walking in a spiral, not in circles, and with every step we take we come across something in the line we walk that makes us a trip or stumble upon.

Like little stones along the way to be picked up, looked at, and learn from its lesson so to speak. Learning also every stone is not just a stone, it is a gift also, and once you become aware of the gift you can also see the color of the stone appearing when you hold it. Each time you can go through this experience and ability to let it go, release it or heal it, you will step along the spiral till you stumble again, and the next stone is at hand to be picked up and looked at.

Awareness in this journey is a major key point because it allows you to be present at the moment you pick up this new stone and to realize you have done this before, even though this may feel different, or the situation is not quite the same, the issue at hand is. It can be more subtle, which makes it a bit more difficult to understand, yet, on the other hand, easier to see what it is you can release, let go and heal.

This is how my life unfolded itself. Walking along the lines of the spiral, picking up my stones, learning the message and the beauty it presented, sometimes at once, it took me 3 times to stumble upon the same stone. Yet every time I was able to do clearing, cleansing, and healing whatever was needed, it brought me one step further on the spiral upwards.

What does Karma have to do with it, you may ask, and how does this relate to awareness?
To me this journey with my stones on the spiral brought me more and more insight into my own being it also enhanced my awareness, so the two are always connected to me. I cannot deal with any karmic, action–reaction, or experience if I am not aware of the consequences of my actions, intentions, belief system, or judgments that I still may have.

It brought me Love, the connection within as well with the environment, with the people around me, micro–macro cosmos, within as well without, and spreading like the ripples we create tossing a stone in a lake, sea, or ocean. Everything is Energy and we all are connected.

'Do not overlook tiny good actions, thinking they are of no benefit, even tiny drops of water, in the end, will fill a huge vessel.'

Sogyal Rinpoche

And so it will be done
