This weekend saw the opening of The Lost Garden at Blenheim Palace - a new £3.6 million outdoor adventure experience located within the historic Walled Gardens, the biggest family-themed attraction in the Palace's history.

The Lost Garden is a series of immersive interconnecting zones with secret chambers, clamber nets, tunnels, slides, rope bridges - and giant carrots! Covering a site larger than a football pitch, it celebrates the rich heritage of the 18th century baroque Palace, inspired by real-life features including the lakeside Boat House and Hensington Gateway.

The inclusive experience has been carefully designed and created to ensure children of all abilities from the ages of 2-12 are able to explore and enjoy the extensive play areas.

To bring the project to life, Blenheim partnered with renowned children's play design company CAP.co and award-winning Oxfordshire family construction firm, Kingerlee.

Heather Carter, Managing Director at Blenheim Palace said: "The Lost Garden really is a hidden world of adventure where children can let their imaginations run wild, with hours of limitless, carefree, active play. We wanted to make it inclusive and accessible to all children, so the majority of the play area is wheelchair friendly, there is a special Toddler Zone, and we will be holding regular SEND days for children with special needs."

Timed tickets are £7 (for both adults and children) and you will also need a valid Annual Pass, Privilege Pass or Park and Gardens ticket. Booking in advance for The Lost Garden is essential.

Blenheim Palace is much more than a day out. Annual Pass holders can also enjoy a calendar of free events throughout the year from the 'Easter Eggstravaganza' to spectacular mediaeval jousting tournaments. Tickets are valid for a whole year from the day you select to visit.

What's more, when visitors enjoy a trip to Blenheim Palace, tickets are treated as charitable donations to the Blenheim Palace Heritage Foundation and as a thank you the UNESCO World Heritage Site automatically converts Palace, Park and Gardens tickets into Annual Passes at no extra cost. This means you can enjoy Blenheim for a whole year.

About Blenheim Palace

Home to the Dukes of Marlborough since 1705, the Oxfordshire Estate was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987.

Set in over 2,000 acres of 'Capability' Brown landscaped parkland and designed by

Vanbrugh in the Baroque style, Blenheim Palace is also the birthplace of one of Britain's most famous leaders, Sir Winston Churchill and it was his father who described the vista, on entering the Estate from the village of Woodstock, as the 'finest view in England'.
