We shouldn't have camped

Off we went, me and my man, on a camping weekend, in the middle of autumn, which felt like winter, just the two of us!

This was a great idea, until it was panning out as a not-so-great idea!

The last time we camped, we had our friends, so we wanted to do it alone, some nice quiet time away... LOL! Quiet time is something we def didn't get.

We get to the campsite and we have lost a great amount of sunlight because winter is looming, so we had to set up quick! We get 2 tents up, one we use for storage, we get the bed pumped up, we get the gazebo up and decide we'll use it to cover our tent when we sleep so that we don't set it up and down and up again in the morning. Everything looks good but it starts raining and we call it a night. The last time I camped, we were at it like bunnies and so I never got to use my pjs, so I didn't bring them this time around. BAD IDEA. My ass was freezing in that tent, I also hadn't brought my warm water bottle so we had to use the soda water bottle, fill it with hot water and use that! My gosh I was cold. I'll never make that mistake again. It rained the whole night, heavily, until at around 4am when we heard a weird sound, we figured it was the monkeys poking around. Untitled HAD to check because we were both paranoid, as he peeked out his head, he realised that one of the gazebo legs just buckled, then the whole thing, loaded with rain water, came crashing down!! Luckily or unluckily, help was a bit of a distance away and so on top of being cold and naked, I had to fight keep the gazebo up from crashing our tent to pieces! Talk about a rude ass awakening! Man, I guess that comes with camping, the unexpected. So, that was it, we got up because our air mattress was now basically floating in the tent.

Just when we got over that, it was still raining by the way, we start the fire so that we can get breakfast kick started. We realise that there's LOTS of traffic coming in, turned out, there was an event! There went the peace and quiet, those people were wearing all white, as the day went on, the drunker they got, the more brown their clothes became. They kept asking what we were selling and asking for tissue and all these random questions, posing by our tent, just strange behaviour. The stage was set up almost 1km away from us, so we were casically IN THE EVENT ourselves. It made for a great afternoon of people watching until we tried to sleep. Now we were super paranoid and had to keep watch because drunk people are the worst, someone could stumble and fall on us or worse, pee or vomit on our tent. He stayed out and I talked to him via the window because I was cold again! Eventually at 12 midnight, they started leaving and it got stressful, we got drunk and high and had amazing sex. Slept, shivered and eventually morning came.

The sun was out but this peace and quiet was short lived as we had to leave soon, we started packing and made the decision that winter camp was definitely not gonna happen, also, when it's just the 2 of us, there's too much set up and down, the extra help was good. So no, we'll do hotels, we'll do the adventures in the summer. BUT, we did have fun, laughed, ate, drank and just had a blast because we love each others company.

As we load up the car, just about to leave, my car, my BMW, decides not to start. I got an expensive car to avoid car trouble but turns out I just went for expensive trouble. I got so much in my feels. He was so calm and sorted it out so quick but I don't want to know how to fix anything because I don't want to deal with anything broken.

Car now running, loaded, we headed home.

What a weekend!

I was very happy to sleep in a bed, with sheets and blankets!

The end
