I recently read and reviewed 2 basic books on Apologetics – one from a respected author that defended the trinity with doctrines but not with scripture, and the other one is an Apostolic treatment of apologetics. The stark difference between these two approaches was that the author of the first book referred to and relied on church doctrines almost exclusively.
If anyone knows me you know that I am a ONE GOD kind of guy.
So I wondered the other day as we were beginning a Sunday service why it would seem acceptable to discerning Christian authors to accept the Doctrine of the Trinity and reject "Behold O Israel our God is ONE".
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 TLV Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one[a]. 5 Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. [b]6 These words, which I am commanding you today, are to be on your heart. 7 You are to teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit in your house when you walk by the way when you lie down, and when you rise up. 8 Bind them as a sign on your hand, they are to be as frontlets[c] between your eyes, 9 and write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
I clipped these from two articles
What I discovered in most of the versions of the Bible produced by Christians is irrefutable proof of intentional mistranslation of words that refer to the Spirit of God. This statement is not an exaggeration, nor is it intended to antagonize anyone. It is simply a statement of fact, and it is a fact that no scholar on earth can refute. In the versions of the holy Scriptures I examined, I discovered that most Trinitarian Christians routinely and purposely mistranslated Greek words for the obvious purpose of promoting their faith in a holy Trinity.

Again, the word Trinity did not come into common use as a religious term until after the Council of Nicaea in A.D. 325, several centuries after the last books of the New Testament were complete. It is not a biblical concept.

I am all for Christian Unity and I know that a lot of denominations and fellowships happened because men could not agree about what God was saying. I am only questioning Trinitarian Doctrine because it is more about placating cultures that had a pantheon of gods and just couldn't wrap their heads around a God that loves you so much that he took on flesh and died for you. They still want to believe that God really doesn't care what they do.
