Third week of interning in the books! Since I am remote, explaining things to me is a bit different than what it would be like if I was in person. Luckily for me though, my supervisor's boss takes the time out of his day to make videos showing me how to do things step by step. He uses a website called Loom to create these videos. And thanks to this fact, I got to learn how to use a new website called Surfer SEO. I also spent a lot of time with Google spreadsheets this week.

Surfer SEO is a tool designed to help SEO optimize written content, like blog posts and articles. It works by analyzing the content of a page against "500+ on-page" signals. So on Monday, I was given a list of articles and was instructed to glaze over them and find a keyword to search in Surfer SEO. After choosing a keyword, I was then told to compare the word count of other articles with the word count of our article. By doing this it shows us how behind or ahead we are of other articles pertaining to this topic.
This task carried into Tuesday, which I then got a new task that morning after I finished. I was told to use the same website, but this time I was using it a bit differently. This time I was looking up other cities' SEO companies. When using Surfer SEO to search these cities I was looking at word count, exact and partial keywords, and exact and partial keyword density. It was a very educational week, to say the least.
