I don't argue or say something against something until I get into the gist or understand the intricacy of it; and I find it really stupid when people take conceptual writings personally and provide its anti-thesis in a completely different category or situation just because they couldn't think rationally enough or didn't have the acumen to go deeper into the subject. The same concept may be interpreted differently in different disciplines. Also, knowing the context of the writing is more important than giving it one's own colour based on limited or faulty perception.
But people do it all the time and I really don't deal with such people because afterward I think that such people don't have enough capacity to get what I say.
