TOPIC: WHO IS GOD I

TEXT: ROMANS 4:5
But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness. KJV

A blessed new month to you! I thank God for his mercies upon your life, glory be to his name. Last month we were helped by the Lord to study on the Scriptures, what it entails and the prominent role the prophets played in communicating God's word in salvation to us. This month is not an exception; we will continue in the same light to understand more about the character of God in salvation and the surety of his will by faith in Christ Jesus. I am excited, are you?

The knowledge about God's identity is firmly established in the scriptures. God define himself in order to become near to the hearts of all men. Romans chapter four explain the truth that Abraham believed in God and by his faith, God acknowledged him as a righteous man. The foundation of God's dealing with Abraham established the importance of faith as the only medium by which any man on earth can be justified.

In the midst of this revelation, the personality of God was spelt out. Romans 4:5 says; whoever believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted as righteousness. Which means that God is the one who justifies the ungodly. He is the justifier of men as long as such has faith in him.

Therefore, because Abraham had faith in God's promise to him as written in Genesis 15:6 (I will make you a father of many nations), God justified and established him as a righteous man. Abraham was ungodly, but God who justifies the ungodly, justified him on the account of his faith in the promise of God.

You must understand without confusion the truth that God is the one who justifies the ungodly on the account of faith in Him. This is the message of salvation. Every man is saved by faith in God who justifies the ungodly through Christ Jesus.

Isn't God awesome? He justifies any and every one as long as such has faith in his power, ability, character, personality, goodness, mercies, kindness and ultimately his word.

What are you waiting for? Express your faith in God in every aspect of your life. The first, is to have faith in him for the salvation of your soul. This is your whole duty as a man. Pray with me.

PRAYER

Today, I believe in God who justifies the ungodly. I receive forgiveness of sins and redemption by faith in Christ death and resurrection. I am born again and blessed with the Holy Spirit of truth in Jesus' name. Amen
