Inetum offre à ses clients en Belgique la possibilité de choisir du matériel informatique de bureau avec compensation de CO2 pour réduire leur empreinte carbone.
« En 2023, nous aimerions que 25 % des appareils que nous vendons s'inscrivent dans notre programme de compensation de CO2. Via notre portail, nos clients ont désormais la possibilité de sélectionner du matériel sur la base d'écocertificats, explique Johnny Smets, General Manager, Inetum Belgium. Cela leur permet d'opter consciemment pour du matériel plus durable, et donc une réduction des émissions de CO2. »
Verdissement de sa flotte de véhicules, déplacements non polluants, promotion du télétravail s'il offre une meilleure qualité de vie aux employés… Inetum a lancé plusieurs initiatives pour réduire ses émissions de CO2. Le groupe a ainsi obtenu la certification d'argent d'Ecovadis en reconnaissance de ses performances en matière de durabilité. Inetum Belgium va désormais plus loin et offre à ses clients la possibilité d'acheter ou de louer des équipements informatiques avec compensation carbone.
Un certificat et un code de suivi ID par produit pour suivre concrètement la compensation
Dans un premier temps, Inetum proposera le programme de compensation carbone pour trois grandes catégories de produits dans le domaine du matériel informatique professionnel : les ordinateurs de bureau, les ordinateurs portables et les écrans. Plus de 40.000 pièces issues de ces différentes catégories ont été vendues en 2022. Inetum élargira par la suite le nombre de produits avec des compensations carbone optionnelles.
« Concrètement, les clients belges ont la possibilité d'acheter ou de louer des produits via notre site portail dans le cadre de notre offre Workplace-as-a-Service, explique Jo Leemans, Director Infrastructure Services, Outsourcing & Reselling, Inetum Belgium. Un certain nombre de ces catégories de produits se voient attribuer une empreinte carbone, que le client peut compenser à l'achat par une contribution supplémentaire. Une fois qu'ils ont acheté ou loué le produit avec compensation carbone, ils reçoivent un certificat et un code de suivi ID par produit pour suivre concrètement la compensation. »
90 % des appareils loués connaissent une seconde vie chez un autre client
Le projet est mené en partenariat avec ClimatePartner. Avec plus de 6000 clients dans plus de 60 pays, cette organisation est le label le plus largement répandu en matière de durabilité. Il mesure l'empreinte carbone d'une entreprise, d'un produit ou d'un service en fonction de son impact CO2. Lors de la vente et de la location de matériel informatique, cet impact carbone comprend la distance parcourue entre le lieu de production et le client, l'approvisionnement en énergie nécessaire à son fonctionnement et les émissions de gaz libérés lors du démantèlement de l'appareil.
Dans le cadre du leasing, les produits professionnels pour lesquels les entreprises s'associent à ClimatePartner passent souvent par le même cycle de vie après avoir été utilisés par les clients. 90% des appareils loués connaissent une seconde vie chez un autre client, 5% sont transformés en nouvelles matières premières réutilisables et 5% terminent en émissions de CO2.
Quant aux émissions résiduelles, elles sont compensées en soutenant des projets de compensation carbone avec Gold Standard ou Verified Carbon Standard. Ces projets vont de la conservation des forêts et du développement des énergies renouvelables à l'amélioration de l'accès à l'eau potable, en passant par le développement des infrastructures locales ou la création d'emplois, ainsi que le développement et la préservation de la biodiversité dans les pays en développement. De cette façon, les émissions inévitables liées aux produits achetés peuvent être compensées.
