Xmas seems to come around so quick as I get older. I don't know why but my life time seems to be going quickly, a year passes in the blink of an eye. I know some people lap up xmas but for me it can seem a little stale, like groundhog day. All of the same xmas songs on the radio and in every shop starts to drive me batty, it must kill the shop assistants! Obviously a nice time for family stuff and the weather I love too. I know some people suffer in winter with the blues, but I like the winter feeling. The walking in crisp air with the dogs, cold nose and breathe, the log fire and cosy dark evenings give a rather warm, comforting feeling to me. Its a time to relax and regenerate.
My aerial photography has been enjoyable. Last week I went up to a local monument that is ignored and forgotten. Its quite spectacular close up, but over the years it has become hidden by large oak trees. It sits on top a valley hill top and if it wasn't for the trees it would be very dominant and clear to see from afar. Whilst taking photos and a video a local couple came over to speak to me. They asked me about using my aerial photography for the local magazine, he said his friend is the publisher and asked me to send a picture over to him. I did, but not a reply, maybe the editor is not so keen as his friend!
Maud, created a causeway over the river Avon in the valley below to get her cattle to market.
Two weeks into a cold that thankfully is on its last legs, left with an itchy cough which is hanging around, I need to get back to my training as I am nearly two weeks off. Sometimes though these breaks can do my body a lot of good.
